This hits home hard for me. Wonderful post for chess players to read. Without finding the joy chess much more difficult. The last few months I embraced the struggle. Hard stuff. Mainly for the sake of enjoyment of chess. No real need for win or loss. Just exploration and excitement learning something new. Now games feel so much more entertaining. When I sit at the board I think now “Wow. I get to play a chess game today. That’s awesome.”
coming from a person that recently got back from a two year break- unhealthy mindset sometimes has it upsides,last week i got +150 fide in a blitz tournament and good mood didn’t leave me for the rest of the day😅😅
